·        National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan meets deputies who are teachers and educational managers, on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (Nhan dan, P1).

·        Vietnam, Japan boost defence cooperation (Quan doi Nhan dan, P1). Minister of National Defence, General Ngo Xuan Lich talked over the phone with his Japanese counterpart Kishi Nobuo.

·        Deepening ties between Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) (Quan doi Nhan dan, P1). Head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Affairs Hoang Binh Quan and President of the SPD parliamentary group Alexander Schweitzer co-chaired a virtual meeting between the two parties.

Socio-economic affairs

·        Vietnam’s VssID digital insurance phone application debuts (Nhan dan, P1).

·        12th East Sea (South China Sea) International Conference takes place virtually (Quan doi Nhan dan, P8).

·        Photo exhibition highlights 70 years of Vietnam – Bulgaria friendship and development (Quan doi Nhan dan, P1).

·        Mu Cang Chai among top 50 attractive destinations of 2020: Big Seven Travel (Quan Doi Nhan dan, P5).

·        Up to two storms to hit Vietnam this year (Ha Noi Moi, P1). The storms are likely to hit the central and southern regions, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

·        House prices tend to drop (Ha Noi Moi, P4). The Ministry of Construction released information on real estate market in the third quarter.

·        Economic development strategy for 2021 – 2030: reducing reliance on FDI firms (Sai Gon Giai phong, P1). Foreign-invested companies’ proportion in Ho Chi Minh City’s gross regional domestic product increased to 22.9 percent in 2010 from 11.3 percent in 1995. Currently, the percentage is 17 percent.

·        Proposal to organise Vietnam’s first art carnival in Ho Chi Minh City next year (Sai Gon Giai phong, P2).

·        Vietnam – Germany trade – investment ties to become greener (Dau tu [Vietnam Investment Review], No 138, P5). Trade and investment between Vietnam and Germany is having an opportunity to improve to become greener and more sustainable. Vu Thanh Huong from the Vietnam University’s University of Economics and Business, said the EU – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement is like a new wind, bringing about confidence for Vietnamese firms in expanding trade with their German and European partners.
