AEON has big ambition in Vietnamese market (Dau tu [Vietnam Investment Review], No. 132, p4). The leading retail group of Japan is going to put AEON Mall Ha Dong into operation soon. It is also planning to open 20 trade centres in Vietnam by 2025. The firm has had five trade centres after five years operating in the country since 2015. So far, AEON’s investment in Vietnam has approximated 700 million USD.

Exports of agricultural products fall 7.4 percent (Thoi bao Kinh te Viet Nam [Vietnam Economic Times], No. 264, p6). According to the Agro Processing and Market Development Department, agro-forestry-fishery exports reached 3.6 billion USD in October, raising the 10-month export value to 33.2 billion USD, up 1.6 percent year on year. In particular, only forestry exports recorded growth, 18.8 percent, while the shipments of aquatic and agricultural products declined, by 2.4 percent and 7.4 percent, respectively.
